UK Traffic Operator

We are constantly looking for switched on people with or without transport experience to join our 60+ team of UK traffic operators, based either in Preston or Glasgow. Whilst experience of the UK transport market, in particular general haulage and subcontracting, is useful it is by no means essential as we provide a comprehensive training program for all new starters.

The key attributes in this role are confidence and professionalism dealing with customers and suppliers over the phone & by email. You will also need to be highly competent using computers, able to work under pressure & capable of solving problems.

You will be given the opportunity to develop your own portfolio of customers with P&L responsibility for this portfolio. International Freight Co-ordinator

Knowledge of the European road transport or forwarding markets and geography are important in this role, & experience of working with other modes of transport would be an advantage.

As an important member of multi-lingual, international team you will be responsible for managing customer orders across Europe: taking client orders and delivering a first class service whilst ensuring that client requirements are met. In addition you will manage our transport partners, and negotiate transport costs to attain the best service and cost ratios.

Communication with clients and partners daily to ensure the transport plan is being achieved is a vital component of the job & you must be confident dealing with individuals at all levels – from drivers to directors – in many instances dealing with individuals who do not speak English as a first language.

Other aspects of the role include resolution of any transport related issues in conjunction with the rest of the operations team & identifying new business flows for reloading vehicles, and our forwarding activities.

Good personal organisation, high levels of enthusiasm, excellent communication skills and a positive telephone manner are essential for the role.

Ideally we are looking for individuals with at least one year freight forwarding or traffic office experience (specifically forwarding & sub-contracting skills), a proficiency in English plus European CEFR Level C1 or equivalent in another European language. Knowledge of drivers’ hours & vehicle operating legislation would be an advantage.

Admin Co-ordinators

Working in our busy administration department, this role covers varied tasks including processing all paperwork associated with deliveries, raising invoices, and dealing with supplier and customer queries. Attention to detail is a pre-requisite, as well as confidence on the telephone and a methodical approach to your work. You will need to be totally comfortable working in a computerised environment – full training will be given on how to use our systems but we need individuals who have already developed their computer skills.

Office administration experience would be preferred, however we are open to enquiries from all individuals who are enthusiastic and have the right attitude and personality.
