Our business structure is unique, we have our own fleet but we are an asset light transport solutions provider. This structure, the investment and importance we put into our team, and our impressive network of trusted partners, is why our customers consider us to be a control tower for the transport sector.

With a dedicated fleet of over 150 vehicles supported by a pan-European network providing access to over 2,500 vehicles daily, we can offer significant scale to our customers whilst retaining local control of all resources.

In-House Transport Management

All our services – Contract Logistics, UK Transport, Traction, European Freight and Customs Management – are managed in-house by our team of over 110 transport planners at our Preston and Glasgow depots. From order to delivery, our customers have a dedicated traffic operator supported by a team of experienced transport solutions providers. At our Preston head office, our admin and accounts departments oversee the post-delivery process, ensuring compliance to customers’ proof of delivery and invoicing procedures.

Haulage Partners

Since 1993, we have collaborated with a number of haulage firms across the UK and Europe. Our long-term haulier relationships enable us to provide our customers with excellent services.

Our network of professional hauliers in the UK and Europe provides opportunities to reduce empty miles for small and large hauliers.

Owner Drivers (Fleet)

bwd engages a large number of owner drivers to support our customers’ transport requirements. As our business grows, we are always looking to expand our network of owner drivers by offering long-term opportunities for motivated, professional drivers.

Through our long trading relationship with F.C Gardener we have developed an industry-leading goods-in-transit insurance policy in conjunction with Argossy Underwriters.

We now offer this policy to our haulage partners so they can enjoy similar commercial & operational benefits.
